You're all worthless and weak!

Today, four of my coworkers called out sick. I had to work for eleven hours with no breaks.

I'm fucking beat.

So I got my first entry into the essay contest. Yay that somebody entered. But there's still time for you to enter. That's right, you can enter this contest and perhaps win a 265 MB USB flash drive for no money and virtually no effort. And the thing has top secret classifed government secrets on it!! Dont' let those fall into the wrong hands!!! Or maybe let them fall into the wrong hands!! Its all your choice, if you win. And, considering that only one person has entered so far, you've got a damn good chance of winning.

Now some of you might be saying to yourself, "how do I enter?" Well, thats easy, just write your damn essay, "what I would do with a USB drive filled with government secrets" and e-mail it to me, ThaddeusMcMonster@gmail.com . Or, you can call me up and recite it to me. Or have it skywritten. Or over AIM. Or snail mail. Whatever. Just write a damn essay dammit. You've got nothing better to do, (or else why are you reading my blog).

once I was watching TV, just flipping through channels, and on the TV, there was a duet singing some song, and the title on the TV screen said "David Bowie and Annie Lennox," and I DIDN'T KNOW WHICH WAS WHICH!!!!

Allright, now that the baseball season is over (and all awards announced), its time to review my predictions... Lets see how I did.

NL East

My predictions:

Atlanta Braves
Philadelphia Phillies
New York Mets
Florida Marlins
Washington Nationals

Actual:

Atlanta Braves
Philadelphia Phillies
New York Mets
Florida Marlins
Washington Nationals

I nailed every single one. So far, I'm doing great, but I've got a feeling that its going to start going downhill soon...

NL Central

My Prediction:

St. Louis Cardinals
Chicago Cubs
Milwakee Brewers
Houston Astros
Cincinati Reds
Pittsburg Pirates

Actual

St. Louis Cardinals
Houston Astros
Milwakee Brewers
Chicago Cubs
Cincinatti Reds
Pittsburg Pirates

Not too bad either. I mixed up the Astros and the cubs, but other than that, not too bad. So far I'm 9 out of 11.

NL West

Prediction:

Los Angeles Dodgers
San Diego Padres
San Francisco Giants
Colorado Rockies
Arizona Diamondbacks

Actual:

San Diego Padres
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Francisco Giants
Los Angeles Dodgers
Colorado Rockies

Hmmm, I got the Giants finishing third, so that makes it 10 out of 16. Now on to the AL.

AL East

Boston Red Sox
New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Baltimore Orioles
Toronto Blue Jays

Actual:

New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Toronto Blue Jays
Baltimore Orioles
Tampa Bay Devil Rays

Again, I got the third place team. Although to be fair, the Yankees and Red Sox really tied for the division, but whatever. 11 for 20.

AL Central:

Predictions:

Minnesota Twins
Cleveland Indians
Chicago White Sox
Detroit Tigers
Kansas City Royals

Actual:

Chicago White Sox
Cleveland Indians
Minnesota Twins
Detroit Tigers
Kansas City Royals

3 out of 5, for a total of 14 out of 25. This was one of the easier division to predict, at least in my opinion.

AL West

Predictions:

Anaheim Angels
Oakland Atheletics
Seattle Mariners
Texas Rangers

Actual:

Anaheim Angels
Oakland Athletics
Texas Rangers
Seattle Mariners

I got the top two right, but I overestimated Texas's decline and overestimated the effect of Adrian Beltre on Seattle.

My score now is oh... 16 for 27, for 59 percent. Yay for me.

I had the wild cards as Boston and Philly, so I ended up getting every playoff team correct except Chicago, Houston and San Diego. 5 for 8 aint bad. Obviously, since I missed the two world series teams, I got most of the postseason wrong, only correctly saying that St Louis would win a series.

Finally, for the awards, I had in the AL:

MVP: Manny Ramirez
Cy Young: Johan Santana
ROY: Dallas McPherson

I got 0 of these, as the actual awards went to Alex Rodriguez, Bartolo Colon and Huston Street, respectively.

As for the NL, I had

MVP: Albert Pujols
Cy Young: Tim Hudson
ROY: Richie Weeks

I nailed Pujols, but missed Carpenter and Howard for Cy Young and the rookie of the year.

Overall, I think I did OK, although I'm not sure how many of these I should get. I wonder how well simply using the previous years standings would work?
