Worthless and Weak

Yesterday, I played a game of Arkham Horror, or as the girl from Texas calls it, "Arkham Whore." Interesting, but I'm not sure that it really gave us the true HP Lovecraft experience. For instance, you really shouldn't be able to win the game; the great ancient evils really should pretty much destroy the world when they awaken; I mean it should take a little more than a violinist with a tommygun to destroy a horrible being from another planet that has slept on the ocean floor for millions of years. Also, the game needs to be more, well, absolutely terrifying. You need to be wary that after every turn, well, there's something there that you don't want to deal with. I'm not exactly sure how to make that game, but there's got to be a way to do it.

So I think I'm finally at the point where I can almost read Arabic script. I've gotten most of the letters down (only a few that I have a little bit of trouble with).

Rosetta Stone software I think works better when you can read along (especially for the speaking parts). I've got to really start cramming though, as I have all of three (!) weekends (not counting this one) until I go to Egypt.

Where does all my time go? It's 9:30 already. Its beginning to feel like the only time I ever have free time is when I'm at work.

So I think I've finally gotten the hang of conjugating verbs in Arabic. Its tough, for instance, in English, you have 3 "persons" and singular/plural. In Arabic, you've got 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Singular, Plural, and Dual, and you've got gender (male vs female, thankfully there's no neuter so far as I know). So that's like, 18 vs 6 for English. That I know of so far. There could be dozens, perhaps hundreds more that I'm not yet aware of.
